Dr. Melanie Deitch grew up in beautiful Grand Junction, Colorado, where her love of the outdoors first took root. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and went on to graduate summa cum laude from the University of Houston College of Optometry in 2018.
Dr. Deitch moved to Miami County and joined Eyecare Associates in 2020 and is now proud to be part of the ownership team. She has a passion for helping patients see their world more clearly, with special interests in cataract co-management, the ocular impacts of nutrition, and maximizing vision for patients with severe visual impairments. She loves learning about each patient’s unique lifestyle, hobbies, and goals — and tailoring their care to fit their needs perfectly.
When she’s not in the office, Dr. Deitch can usually be found on her small family farm with her husband, Tom, and their daughter, Kaya. She grows her own fruits and vegetables, raises chickens, and is even venturing into beekeeping! Her furry and feathered companions include Bear, a Shar Pei mix, and Howard, her parrot. In her downtime, she enjoys reading, crafting, solving puzzles, and keeping her competitive streak alive in fantasy football.
